The Rev. Dr. William E. White
Pastor Bill is passionate about discipleship! One of his core beliefs is that all Christians are called by God to be disciples of Jesus Christ to make disciples for Jesus Christ. Rev. Cassie Boehringer
We welcomed Pastor Cassie, husband Derek, and son Billy to the St. Peter’s Family in January 2018. Their daughter Leeann was born in March 2019.
Pastor Cassie was born in West Palm Beach, FL, but lived most of her life in the small town of Tyrone, GA, south of Atlanta. Derek is originally from the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, but later in his childhood, his family moved to Peachtree City, GA. Pastor Cassie and Derek attended rival high schools in the same county but didn’t meet until their college days at Georgia Southern University where Derek majored in law enforcement and she majored in Public Relations.
Pastor Cassie was baptized, confirmed, and married in the Lutheran church. At age 15, she began to sense God calling her to one day serve in ordained ministry. Pastor Cassie received her Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in May 2015. She completed seminary field education serving at the Frazer Center in Atlanta (an adult and child daycare facility for persons of all physical and developmental abilities) and at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone. On June 21, 2014, Derek and Cassie were married at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville, Georgia. After graduating from seminary, she began serving an extended pastoral internship at Prince of Peace.
She arrived at St. Peter’s Lutheran in January 2018. She was ordained to the ministry of word and sacrament in the North American Lutheran Church on February 11, 2018. She was installed as our Associate Pastor the Sunday following her ordination. Pastor Cassie enjoys playing with the family’s two dogs, making arts and crafts, and taking their kids to the Riverbanks Zoo and other fun outings on the weekends. Her favorite things about life in Lexington are the welcoming and friendly community, fantastic home-cooked meals by our congregation, and raising her family in a beautiful town with lots to do!
The Boehringers are delighted to be here and are looking forward to making disciples with you!
