The Rev. Dr. Judson F. Merrell, STS (Pastor Judson) became the Senior Pastor at St. Peter’s on January 1, 2023. He grew up at Union Lutheran (NALC) in Salisbury, NC. He is a “dyed in the wool” Lutheran, having grown up at the same church as multiple generations of his family. Pastor Judson attended UNC-Charlotte and graduated in 2003, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He was accepted to Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary and enrolled in the summer of 2003. After graduating in 2007 with a Master of Divinity degree, he was ordained on July 22, 2007. In 2016 he was accepted into the Doctor of Ministry program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He graduated in January 2020 and his thesis centered on how the Holy Spirit is present in grief and the liturgy. Prior to St. Peter’s, he has served two congregations in South Carolina.

Pastor Judson became a subscriber of The Rule of the pan-Lutheran ministerium Societas Trinitatis Sanctae (STS) in 2010. He is also a regular contributor for the website Gӧettingen Predigten im Internet (Sermons from Gӧettingen on the Internet) run by the University of Zurich (https://www.theologie.uzh.ch/predigten/en/).

Pastor Judson is married to Carrie, a mother/baby nurse at a local hospital. They are the parents of two daughters, Addison and Camryn, and one furry King Charles Cavalier named Westin.

Craig Davis

Craig graduated from Furman University. In addition to his duties at St. Peter's, he is the director of bands at Beechwoods Middle School in Lexington. Craig is married to Victoria and they have two beautiful little girls.

Kayla Ellingson

Angel Choir Director (Part-time)

Kayla is a life-long member of St. Peter's. In addition to Angel Choir, she sings in the Chancel Choir and is in the Handbell Choir. Kayla is married and has two children who are also active in the life of the church.

Barry Moore

Chancel Choir / Handbells (Part-time)

Barry has served St. Peter's for many years. He and his family are very active in the music program. Barry is also an excellent chef who is shares his talents with the church family on several occasions throughout the year.
