Music as part of worship is held in high regard by Lutherans. Martin Luther called music “the art of the prophets and the gift of God.” St. Peter’s supports an active music program.

Angel Choir
The Angel Choir is for children ages 3 – 5. This choir gathers in their choir room on the nursery hall for practice at 10:00 am each Sunday morning during the school year. The Angel Choir sings for special services throughout the year. Kayla Ellingson – Director

SonShine Choir
The SonShine Choir is for children in 1st grade through 6th grade, and practices in the SonShine Choir room Sunday morning at 9:45 am – 10:00 am during the school year. During the Summer, we do not meet on Sunday mornings but we have Music Camp and Vacation Bible School Music. The SonShine Choir room is located on the 2nd level of the Education Building beside the children’s Sunday School classrooms. Practice schedules are available in the choir room. Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is open to anyone 15 years of age and older. Practice is held each Wednesday at 7:30 pm in the Choir Room. This Choir sings a wide variety of challenging pieces from traditional to contemporary, and membership is open to anyone who is able to commit to regular weekly rehearsals. The Chancel Choir sings every Sunday at the 11 am worship service. Barry Moore – Director

Matins Choir
This Choir sings regularly at the 8:30 am worship service. They meet on Monday evenings at 6:15 pm in the Choir Room. The Matins Choir sings both old and new music from a variety of stylistic periods. Membership is open to anyone interested in making a joyful noise. Craig Davis – Director

Adult Handbell Choir
The Adult Handbell Choir is open to adults with some music reading ability and willingness to commit to weekly rehearsals. The Handbell players perform for festival services. Rehearsals are Sunday at 4:30 pm in the Handbell Room. Barry Moore – Director

Solo Instrumentalists
St. Peter’s offers opportunities for solo instrumentalists to share their gifts of talent during worship services. If you would like to share your talents, contact Craig Davis.

Cantata Choir
The Cantata Choir presents a concert each year at Christmas. Membership is open to anyone interested in singing and willing to commit to seasonal rehearsals. This choir performs with an orchestra. Cantata practices begin every September.

Summer Music Camp
St. Peter’s offers a Summer Music Camp for rising 1st to 6th grade students. We hope to provide a wonderful learning experience for each child that will help them develop an understanding of the importance of Church Worship Music. Mini Music Camp
St. Peter’s offers a Mini Music Camp for children ages 3 – 5. This camp is held on a Saturday from 10 am to noon in the Fellowship Hall. Children always have a wonderful time filled with songs, crafts and snacks! Details and sign-up information is published in the spring of the year. This camp is directed by our Angel Choir Director, Kayla Ellingson.
